Just a short diary to cut through all the distortion, bullshit, and media obsession with a horse race.
Hillary Clinton is going to be the Democratic nominee for President of the United States.
That’s huge. That’s exciting.
We’re going to see a brilliant, loyal, progressive woman represent Democrats this fall, and that is something to be proud of.
There are those who want to diminish her or the excitement of the millions of people who support her and have won the nomination for her.
There are still contests to be held and news stories to be written, but the outcome isn’t in any serious doubt right now.
Don’t let anyone dampen your excitement. We built this together, and together we’re going to send Hillary to the White House.
The smears, the distortions, the conspiracy theories will continue, but let them slide off your back.
We’re ready to make sure that President Obama is followed by just about the only person who could even come close to filling his shoes.
Just remember that simple fact as we go through the next couple of months and the inevitable lies and smears coming from the right (and from, unfortunately, some dark corners of the left, as well).
What we fought for is coming to reality. Hillary is going to be the nominee for the Democratic Party, and we’re going to make her the President.
Petty attacks, frivolous lawsuits, sexist smears, and attacks on Clinton and voters who support her all will add up to nearly nothing when we see her on the stage in Philly accepting the nomination, and next January when she takes the oath of office.
Don’t let the bullshit drag you down. We won the nomination and we’re going to keep on winning all the way to the White House (and beyond).
