Received this e-mail today from former Lt. Governor Patty Judge’s (D. IA) U.S. Senate campaign:
“I think you’re seeing the Senate being more productive now than it has in a long time” -- Chuck Grassley
Is he serious? Add your name and tell the Senate to get to work >>
Hi --
It’s unbelievable. Congress was required to pass a budget by April 15th. Not only have they not passed a budget, they’re making no attempt to pass one anytime soon.
Thanks to Chuck Grassley, the Senate is refusing to hold hearings on Merrick Garland’s Supreme Court nomination -- despite the fact that it’s the Senate’s Constitutional responsibility to do so.
In fact POLITICO reported that the Senate is in session for the “fewest days in 60 years.”
But amazingly, Chuck Grassley thinks the Senate is being “more productive.”
Will you join me and tell the Senate that you can’t get stuff done if you don’t show up for work?
This is what happens when you’ve been in Washington for over 35 years. You lose touch with your constituents.
There’s a lot of talk in Washington. But I expect my representatives to sit down with people from both sides of the aisle and deliver real results for the people of Iowa.
It’s impossible to deliver results if you don’t even show up to work. Currently, the Senate is on pace to have fewest days in session since 1956.
Please add your name and tell the Senate that, with all the pressing problems we face, it’s time to put more workdays on the calendar.
Thanks,
Patty
