Dear Chairwoman Wasserman Schultz,
I received your letter and “official 2016 Democratic Party Survey” / DNC fundraising form. As I scanned the survey questions, I noticed that nearly all of the choices for answering those questions expressed views by one of our candidates while pretty much leaving out responses that would reflect the views of the other candidate and his supporters of which I am one. For that reason, I will not be able to complete your survey nor will I consider donating to the DNC. I guess I should not be surprised by this phony survey given how you have so blatantly used the DNC to promote the establishment candidate while ignoring the groundswell of popular support for her primary opponent.
The scary “Stop Donald Trump” insert was also interesting. If you and the party establishment really had as your top two priorities to insure that Donald Trump is defeated in November, and that Democrats retake the Congress, you would be paying more attention to general election match up polling data that has consistently shown Senator Sanders defeating Trump by a significantly larger margin than Secretary Clinton. You might also want to consider the views of the 43% of voters who identify as independents, the majority of whom view the Secretary unfavorably to very unfavorably. Then there are the newest potential Party recruits, voters under 30, who overwhelmingly reject your candidate as symbolic of the political status quo and everything they hate about politics. It is truly sad to see the DNC and Party establishment squander this opportunity to grow our Party. But I guess your loyalty lies with one candidate and not with our Party or our nation.
The reality that you and the Party hierarchy don’t seem to understand is that this Democratic primary contest is not so much about either candidate as it is about the rejection of the alliance between too many Democratic politicians and the special interest forces that have corrupted our government. You and those politicians may be able to hold on to power for a while yet, but the enthusiasm behind the non-establishment candidates in this contest foreshadows your and their demise.
