Remember Guccifer? He’s the Romanian hacker who hacked Sydney Blumenthal’s email, and the reason why we found out about HRC’s private email server. He also exposed four of Clinton’s emails two years ago. When he originally did this, everyone thought they were fake. But three of the four later turned up in the FOIA documents released by the State Department.
The fourth email, which Clinton didn’t turn over, suggests that she knew the Saudis were responsible for Benghazi and lied about it in her congressional testimony in exchange for speaking fees. This is now the subject of the second FBI investigation against Clinton.
Now he claims to have hacked Clinton’s email server directly. And there is very good reason to believe him, given the fact that he had access to the location of the server via her emails in Sydney Blumenthal’s account and the fact that the server was completely unprotected. Also, the FBI extradited him to the United States, but not permanently, only for 18 months. This suggests they wanted him to testify in one or both of their criminal investigations into Clinton, and are looking for his cooperation rather than to punish him.
There is a very good writeup on Medium about Guccifer, and why he’s the missing link that stands between where we are now and HRC getting indicted. Well, it looks like the speculation in that blog post may now actually be true. And since Guccifer himself is currently facing criminal charges of his own, if he were lying about hacking HRC’s server then this would well extend his prison sentence or void any immunity offers he may have received.
I have no idea whether or not this is legit, but clearly this is going to be the biggest news story for several weeks going forward.
