Kentucky for Hillary — Hillary for West Virginia--Charleston Office
As we switch to the General Election Hillary is still fighting to win primary states and battle Trump. She needs our support more than ever. Click on the links at the top and bottom of this thread, to see how you can help.
On the ground in Kentucky, Hillary meets with young Daisies at a Girl Scout store in Ashland. Hillary was happy to find out that they also sold gluten free cookies. She may have bought all the cookies, we don’t know for sure, the Secret Service is not talking and Bill is eating...cookies?
Hillary also met with Kentucky steelworkers. According to a Steelworker Representative, Appalachia at one time employed 5000 steelworkers. now they are down to 215. They discussed jobs and coal. Kentucky has been hard hit economically, by the decline in coal production.
Hillary made her plans clear, and that she isn’t going anywhere; she is determined to help Kentucky recover.
Hillary has put forth a 30 million dollar plan to help coal and steel workers. She told to the group what that she was there to stay. Hillarys plan has three major parts; health care, pensions, and scientific reseach.
"It's not only coal We've got economic pressures in Appalachia that have to be addressed overall and what I'm saying is that I'm laying out a plan. I'm telling people what I want to do," Clinton said. "I'm telling voters hold me accountable. I'm not just here today gone tomorrow. That's not the kind of person I am. I can't promise that were going to have a miracle but I can promise were going to work hard to do everything possible to create economic opportunity in one of the most repeatedly important geographically well-placed parts of our country."
“number one to protect the benefits, the pensions that coal miners have earned and deserve to have, including a government back-stop so there won't be a loss of those benefits if there are continuing bankruptcies,"
Hillary is really at her best when she meets people one on one and in small groups. It’s one of her strengths and has paid off, in a big way, winning the Democratic Presidential Nomination.
Kentucky is going to be an uphill battle. So let GOTV, and do what we can to help Hillary win Kentucky.
