After seeing the new film Captain America: Civil War, I fully understand why Robert Downey, Jr suggested that his character in the film, Tony Stark, would vote for Hillary Clinton. Tony Stark, for better or worse, is similar to Hillary Clinton in many ways.

<spoiler alert>
In the latest film, we see him as a wishy-washy globalist looking out for the UN rather than the U.S. As the film progresses, he sticks up for the globalists until he finally can't ignore the truth. Even then, he capitulates and winds up spending tons of energy to protect the status quo.
Across all of the films with the Avengers characters, Stark is constantly annoyed by the purity of Captain America. I am not saying the film predicted Clinton vs Sanders, but it certainly is an interesting metaphor. Captain America does what is right, while Stark does what is politically wise. That sounds like Bernie vs Clinton.
I don't know if Downey was being snarky or not, but in the end I agree with him: Stark would vote for Clinton, and that's not a rousing endorsement. We still have time to vote for Bernie.
