Our victory Barnstorm at Jack N Grill (featured on Man Vs Food) was a big deal for several reasons.
WE can take part and re-organize in a very quick fashion to get going on supporting California and getting that 75% win.
Newly elected “Berniecrat” Vice Chair Jo Ann Fujoka
First we were all pumped up about Bernie’s Indiana upset win, and because Bernie is about to win a string of Victories especially in Oregon and most importantly CALIFORNIA!
But a lot of other really cool things happened as well.
The same day, the DNC Delegates from Colorado voted who the Chair and Co- Vice chairs would be as well as other people in the Delegation.
The lady speaking first is Vice Chair Jo Ann Fujoka and that was her first address to us Democrats after being elected.
That’s important here, because in Colorado, we got RID of all the delegates aligned with the establishment DNC associated with DWS and Democrats who think Fracking is A-OK, while we watch the Alberta fire consume Canada.
The leadership of the Delegates now are are all Berniecrats and will be so for some time to come.
Speaking of Fracking, we also had Lauren Petrie of Food and Water Watch show up to get signatures to get a Fracking Ban on the Ballot this year.
This is important because our ‘Democratic’ Governor appointed a Republican to the Supreme Court to ensure that Court would overturn Longmont’s ban on Fracking.
And Emilie Mitcham also got many commitments for people who will be phone banking to West Virginia, Oregon and especially California.
There was a lot of talk about Colorado’s Amendment 69, which is the opportunity for our State to be the first state to pass Universal Healthcare — much like Saskatchewan led the way in Canada.
That’s right, the state that was on the first in the U.S. to legalize Weed could become the first to pass Single Payer healthcare. Colorado doesn’t care what the rest of the Country thinks.
Next they are going to change the the State bird to the Middle finger. (laughter)
Now we expect Republicans to be against this idea, but we are scratching our heads at our ‘Democratic’ Senator Bennet, who says he opposes the Popular amendment.
Maybe that’s why Independent candidate for Senate, Dan Chapin was there as well, citing that issue as one of his reasons for entering the race.
So what I thought we be merely a Bernie ‘Pep’ rally, was a convergence of a lot of discussions about the election, our environment, Universal Healthcare and the State of our Party.
And WE DID rally the troops, we signed up a lot of people who will be calling you Berners in Oregon and California!
ONWARDS!!!!
