To Glenn Greenwald:
Glenn, please stop pretending you like election polls. You do tweet about them sometimes. But the fact is that you really do not like polls per se. You like polls that are bad news for Hillary Clinton exclusively.
For instance, You gleefully reported in February that Hillary Clinton’s lead over Bernie Sanders in South Carolina had shrunk to 18% according to one poll (CNN poll).
Now let me show you how many SC polls followed that CNN poll, which you did not tweet or write about:
At the end, Clinton won SC by 49%. CNN was the hugest outlier.
Furthermore, you recently tweeted that the online poll Reuters/Ipsos had Donald Trump ahead by 1%.
But You have not told your readers that Hillary now leads Sanders by 4% in the same poll.
Finally, Glenn, stop pretending that you are “alarmed” about the fact that Trump has allegedly closed the gap against Clinton. This actually made you happy, because you are currently rooting hard for Bernie Sanders over Clinton. Besides, don’t you tell us that Clinton and Trump are the same? Why would then would either one closing the gap against the other “alarm” you?
In short, Glenn,
1) Provide your readers with complete polling information. Do not deliberately run out of gas after you post polls favorable to your least favorite candidate. Give us updates, even you hate those updates. You are a journalist who purportedly want to keep your readers well-informed. Do not mislead by cherry-picking.
2) stop being a phony. It is ok to express your true feelings. You are loving your cherry-picked pro-Trump polls. You are not alarmed. You are very happy.
Sincerely, a guy who doesn’t cherry-pick polls.
