There was a huge new breakout of violence by Bernie supporters a moment ago.
I confess: I picked up a chair and put it down.
I’m ready now to confess to hundreds in the media and to be on ‘news shows’ and cable and newspapers for days as they cover this massive outbreak of violence.
And yes, to answer Hillary supporters, I will beat this horse some more. Because it is a scandal how falsely the issue was reported — lies to manipulate the discussion.
I have seen zero accountability for the bad reporting and behavior.
I haven’t even seen one poster here apologize for the false claims.
So as long as I just duplicated all the massive violence of Bernie supporters in Nevada, I expect the same domination of news coverage for at least a day.
Before this primary began, I felt that a big problem with the election coverage is that it goes from the issues that matter to little coverage of those and enormous coverage of trivia and lies and hype.
I felt we should push back on that and try to keep it on the issues.
Whatever issues Hillary has, and the ones we all know, at least, Bernie has, with the excessive role of money in our politics among many others.
And we’re seeing just what I expected, weeks of fixation on the nuances of the word unqualified, twisting of any interview quote into an attack, the massive outbreak of violence in Nevada. I don't know how we missed this one responding to the story, fellow critics, but did you know Barbara Boxer was dodging sniper fire to get out of the convention alive?
I’m not pleased with the dishonesty of the political attacks and the trivialization of the issues, and I’m not happy with the absence of any accountability for the bad behavior.
Anyone who posted the phrase “thrown chairs” in a claim of what happened, anyone who said there was violence, atone. Post a mea culpa, and it will be good for the election.
Let’s try to learn from the problem and not repeat it and get back to the issues. I'd hate to have to pick up a chair again.
