Women, stop acting like girls and waiting for it to be ok to publicly and Proudly support Hillary! What separates the men from the boys and the women from the girls is the same thing - Standing up for what or who you believe in without apology and with pride.
Gay activists have Gay Pride because they were told they should be ashamed. African-Americans have had Black Pride because they were taught that they are less than. The Sufferagettes fought for the right to vote for women! What will this generation of women do to help elect the First woman and most qualified candidate we have?!
When we look back on this season will we cringe because we were too timid to speak our mind or too scared we might upset a nameless “Bernie Bro” or “Trump Ho”? Who cares who someone else supports? Who cares what someone else says? Why do you put their opinions ahead of your own? Because that is how females are raised.
But even cattle that are raised for consumption have been known to jump the fence on the path to the slaughterhouse. It’s time to jump over our cultural boundaries and join with other proud, loud and enthusiastic Clinton supporters! It's time we start our own Hillary Pride movement.
There are no feminine versions of bubba, good ol boy, dude or buddy; we have mother and whore, those are the female archetypes. That is why she can be called unlikable and it's considered a threat. Male geeks have made strides and have surpassed jocks on the social ladder, but smart women, strong women, a woman who dares to bust out of the pink box?! No, not yet and that is the steep climb Hillary has been on for decades.
I want to say I helped her get there, that I was rooting for her and fighting for her and not ashamed to help carve out a new reality for the women of this world, subject to no one. We all don't need to be out in front, but those out in front need courageous supporters. Stand up, speak out and be proud for Hillary, she deserves it.
Associating with other women and men who think like you do, are passionate about the same candidate you are and are willing to speak up and act on her behalf is lot more productive and empowering than waiting for your oppressors to grant you permission to have a different opinion than theirs. Those with priveledge don't do that, you have to assert yourself and be willing to face not being liked for it - it's called trailblazing.
Until we have a woman president and until her gender is a non-issue, those that believe in her and in the potential of women leaders have a duty to help get her nominated and then continue to support her through her presidency. That will not only upset the status quo, but it should upset your comfort zone. Remember, well behaved women rarely make history.
