Maybe you have heard of the myth of Ulysses and how he kept his crew from jumping ship to certain death, by plugging their ears so as not to hear the fatal song of the Sirens while he had himself tied to a mast to hear it without succumbing. The mainstream media and Kos are promoting the pro Hillary- come together Siren song which is a death Knell for positive change in our country. Some are so tired of the propaganda that they just give up the Daily Kos and mainstream media, effectively plugging their own ears.
I’m so tired of you people coming to the Sanders page and either trashing our candidate or trying to convince us that we had our moment and now it’s time to fall in line to support the political machine that we have been trying to dismantle.
I and many people like me, left the Democratic Party years ago when it became obvious that it was not representing the liberal electorate. We came back when we found an HONEST candidate who walked the walk. We watched as debates were scheduled next to major sporting events and inopportune times for working people to watch them. We saw the DNC cutoff Bernie’s access to Dem database based on information given to the DNC by the Sanders Campaign. We are now watching thousands of people whose registrations are being changed and discarded.
We watched Hillary change her platform to what she thought that we wanted to hear, all the while collecting money for Super Pacs from millionaires and refusing to let anyone know what she is telling them. All the while, we are hearing, Poor Hillary. Bernie is being mean to her while the astroturfing her super pac is publishing on any political article on Bernie is truly astounding. Cheap shots. All the while amassing huge amounts of money and power to add to the Clinton Dynasty.
Bernie is not a demagogue, he is not the second coming and he is far from perfect. In fact, there are positions of his that I totally disagree with. I do however, like what he stands for.
Why I support him is he consistent, committed and HONEST. He is funded by people, not corporations and lobbyists. He vehemently supports campaign finance reform, hopefully to put in place a system that doesn’t require the BILLIONS being spent on elections in this country. Does anyone think about the fact that just one of Clinton’s super pac expenditures could have replaced the Flint Michigan water system?
We watched the whole Democratic Superdelegate contingent support her before there was even the first Primary. I think that they are afraid to cross the Clintons. It’s pretty obvious, for what reason I do not know.
Based on the above and more, I don’t trust the DNC or their chosen one any more than Ulysses trusted the Sirens. The DNC had a chance to bring in a huge number of new and returning democrats and they blew it. The song is a tad off key.
