Partly because I drive really, really fast, no time for road rage, but mostly because I listen to music while I drive. I have an old fashion 6 CD player (NO! I don’t listen to the radio) and I tend to stick with one song for days at a time by hitting the repeat button. And when you’re listening to really good music you have no need for road rage.
I’m on the road driving usually an hour and a half every day, too. Something that is supposed to be stress inducing. Especially in a city like mine where 80 something new people move here a month.
We now have 2 area codes and you have to add one to local phone numbers when you call which is a bitch. Oh, and that’s the other thing I do that appears to be stress relieving, I swear a lot. I try to fit fuck into every sentence I say. But music is the key to it all.
This is what I’ve been listing too for the last 2 days, crank it up for ultimate listening experience.
Now, the thing to listen to here is the guitar solo and at 2:30 listen to the other lead guitar come in and play the same solo. This happens again at 4:00. If you listen to just a few seconds before that, especially the first time you’ll hear the second lead come in right under the first.
Having listened to this for hours over the last few days, I take turns. One time, I’ll just listen to the rhythm guitar, pretty much blocking everything else out. Next time I’ll listen to one of the leads and the next time the other lead guitar. Then I’ll take turns listening to each drummer.
I think the Allman Brothers was the only band to ever have 2 drummers at the time. They were one of the first to have 2 lead guitars. Duane Allman got the idea from Curtis Mayfield.
So, that’s it, my secret to preventing road rage; drive fast, listening to really good music very loud. Keep calm and say fuck a lot!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
