This cover from The New Yorker sums up one of the many things I love about Hillary Clinton:
“With the recent passing of Muhammad Ali, boxing is on my mind,” Barry Blitt says about his cover for the June 20, 2016, issue. His next thought was Hillary Clinton: “You’ve got to respect or at least be impressed by someone who has been counted out many times but repeatedly gets up from the mat, ready for the next round.”
Think about how many times Hillary Clinton has been attacked by the Republican noise machine and the media over the last few decades.
If you go all the way back to the late 1970s, you can find interviews in which she’s essentially asked, “But why are you still working at a law firm when your important politician husband might need you to run the household?” And that’s when reporters were being NICE to her!
She’s been attacked from the right. She’s been attacked from the left. And yet, no matter what happens, she always gets back on her feet, ready to fight the next round.
Donald Trump thinks he can push Hillary Clinton into the corner by calling her names on Twitter? I’m sure she’s just shaking in fear at being called “Crooked Hillary.” Oh no, how mean!
Trump will probably call Hillary that at the debate, thinking he’ll get a rise out of her by saying it in person on live TV. I absolutely cannot wait to see her response.
Bring it on, Deadbeat Donald. You call yourself a counterpuncher? You have no idea what the term really means, but you’re about to find out...
