Jesse Jackson endorses Hillary Clinton
The Rev. Jesse Jackson endorsed Hillary Clinton on Saturday, continuing a recent string of high-profile endorsements for the presumptive Democratic nominee.
Jackson, speaking in Chicago, said he trusts that Clinton will look out for the interests of marginalized communities including refugees, immigrants and the poor.
"We trust her to work on health care, to fight for the poor ... for the willingness to fight for civil rights," Jackson said.
Excellent endorsement. Trust is a big factor here, and Hillary can be trusted to work hard for the poor and for civil rights, and continue and hopefully complete her decades long fight for universal health care.
Jackson told CNN last month that he had been in touch with advisers to both Clinton and her primary challenger, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, to emphasize the importance of party unity as Democrats prepare for a general election fight against Donald Trump.
Sanders "must support the winner, Hillary, over Donald Trump. That's his very public position and I hope he will hold that position," Jackson said back then.
Hillary Clinton Keeps Rolling As Rev. Jesse Jackson Endorses Democratic Nominee
Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., is holding a news conference Saturday, June 11, at 12:30 P.M. to announce his personal endorsement of Secretary Hillary Clinton for president, “the most qualified and best hope” to rebuild urban America and stanch the scourge of joblessness and gun violence that has turned parts of Chicago and other cities across the country into killing fields.
Among the reasons Rev. Jackson unreservedly endorses Sectary Clinton are:
· Hillary Clinton supports getting big money and dark money out of politics and overturning Citizens United.
· Hillary Clinton supports policies of inclusion and greater democracy in our politics.
· Hillary Clinton supports reigning in Wall Street, big business and big insurance companies disproportionate influence on our politics and government.
· Hillary Clinton is against individuals and businesses sheltering their money in foreign tax shelters and believes the rich and big business should pay their fair share of taxes.
· Hillary Clinton supports universal health care and health care as a right.

AP Source: Clinton expected to receive AFL-CIO endorsement
Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is expected to be endorsed next week by the AFL-CIO, the nation’s largest labor federation, in another sign of Democrats shifting toward the general election against Republican Donald Trump.
A union official said the AFL-CIO’s political committee voted on Friday to recommend that the labor federation’s general board hold a call next Thursday to consider the endorsement. Clinton is all but assured of it because she has received most of the endorsements of the AFL-CIO’s member unions.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to speak publicly about the private meeting.
The powerful labor federation represents 12.5 million workers and is a key member of the Democratic party’s coalition. It has withheld an endorsement during the primaries as Clinton received a spirited challenge from Democratic rival Bernie Sanders, who has made his opposition to faulty trade deals a cornerstone of his campaign.
Clinton has received the endorsements of many of the AFL-CIO’s largest members, including the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees and the American Federation of Teachers.
United Steelworkers Endorse Clinton for President
The United Steelworkers have pledge their support to Hillary Clinton, as she continues to run for President.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the USW International President, Leo Gerard, said, "Secretary Clinton has promised to figiht for fair, not just free trade, and has vowed to oppose the job-killing Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). She will fight for collective bargaining rights and labor protections, as well as high standards for domestic sourcing and 'Buy American' laws."
….
Clinton said in a statement that she is honored to have earned the endorsement of the United Steelworkers.
"Steel is crucial to our economy, our manufacturing base, and our national security. As President, I will stand with the USW in the fight to protect workers' fundamental rights to organize, to bargain collectively, to stay safe on the job and retire with dignity. As a Senator from New York, I stood with steelworkers against efforts to undermine the competitiveness of American steel. And as President, I will throw the book at China and stop their illegal efforts to dump cheap steel in U.S. markets."
IBEW Endorses Hillary Clinton for President
“The choice America faces this November is now clear. As senator, Hillary Clinton has stood with us and the labor movement more than 90 percent of time, from opposing right-to-work laws to supporting federal project labor agreements. Secretary Clinton has vowed to invest in our industrial and energy infrastructure and push for stronger enforcement of labor law, including cracking down on wage theft that is all too common in the construction industry.
“Most importantly, considering the vacancy on the Supreme Court, she will appoint a justice who respects the right to collectively bargain.
…
“The majority of primary voters have spoken and now is the time for us to come together behind one candidate.
“As a president of the largest union in the electrical industry, I want someone in the White House who will make it easier, not harder, for working families to come together and speak up for themselves. A president who is committed to raising wages, boosting retirement security and making it easier for working parents to raise their families – and has the legislative record to back it up. And I want a president who is committed to appointing justices who will not overturn our hard-fought for rights on the job.
“That is why the IBEW is endorsing Hillary Clinton for president. Every IBEW member will have to make their own decision on Nov. 8, but I encourage them to study both candidates’ records – both in words and deeds – and give Secretary Clinton their support as well. The stakes are too high.”
