Sitting outside in the shade and composing this bucket on my iPhone. It will be short of links and the usual filler and such but I have pretty pictures!
Best guess on this is a Woodland Sunflower. No idea where it came from but it filled in a “sunny” spot on the edge of the woods.
Interesting, no option to center the photo. Well you can see that the sunflower has unusual leaves. You'd think that would help with ID but no…
Can't do a bucket without a bug so here's another of those “litter bugs” — this one gave itself a tail.
Nope, still not centered. Preview is gonna be a hoot!
If you wondered what leaf that bug is crawling on, it's Beautyberry. And this is where I'd add a link to the Science article about how Bb has 3 chemical compounds that have been identified as mosquito repellants. Getting products to market will be a long slog but you can always break off a branch and wave it around your head like I did this morning. Or crush the leaves and let linger on you.
One more photo, if I can chase the menu bar back up the screen. It keeps moving up before I can click the photo button.
Ok, I'm done, can't wait to see what this looks like. Catch ya in the comments…
