I still can’t believe I am typing these words.
My son died last night.. He was a wonderful happy young man and I was very proud of him. He was born with a heart condition and that factored into his death. He would have been 28 on July 2nd and he was married this past November. Like all 28 year olds, he had his whole life in front of him.
I’m obviously in a state of shock. I’m shaking from the inside out. I’m staring in space while trying to digest my sons passing. I have the news on in the background and as of 6/23/16 @ 7:56 PST the Democrats are still on the floor of The House.
This is an important issue. I didn’t lose my son from gun violence, but the pain of losing a child in any manner is something no parent should ever have to go thru.
So, this leads me to why I am writing. While the Democrats are taking a stand on the floor, what if actual people that have been affected by gun violence got their voice heard on the floor somehow too. Could it be done thru Periscope? What about civil protests against gun violence outside The House while the Democrats are on the floor?
Take it from me. The pain you feel when your child dies in unbearable. Please pass gun legislation. Our sons and daughters are counting on you.
