This morning I watched Dallas Police Chief David Brown being interviewed by Jake Tapper on CNN. He provided more details on the shooter, and the other three individuals who had been taken into custody, and later released. They had bee seen marching with the demonstrators, openly carrying AR-15’ which is legal in Texas. When the shooting started they were seen by police fleeing the scene in a black car, and the police were justifiably suspicions. They were taken into custody, questioned, and release after it was determined they were not involved in the shooting. I believe, on suspect was arrested because he was not authorized to possess the weapon. It was a weapons charge, and there is not indication this individual was involved in the shooting.
My question is why do the citizens of Texas put up with gun laws that permit people to march around downtown Dallas openly carrying AR-15’s. True the AR-15’s had noting to do with the shooting, but it still is a mystery to me. Chief Brown did not comment on the Texas gun laws, and said it was a policy decision to be resolved by the policy makers.
The point: I was impressed by Chief Brown, he appears to be a great Police chief, and a good man. I highly recommend that you watch this interview —www.cnn.com/…
