Trevor Noah is not Jon Stewart, but he is sharp and funny and the writing staff on the Daily Show have begun to find their stride with him. Last night, Noah tackled the recent Fox News scandal involving the former on-air personality Gretchen Carlson and Fox News CEO Roger Aisles. If you have not been following the news here’s the WARNING: You will not be able to unsee what happens in your mind with the following information. Roger Ailes is being accused of trying to solicit sexual favors from Gretchen Carlson in every creepy way imaginable. Noah responds to the news with disgust at the thought of Roger Ailes propositioning anyone, but is able to find a silver lining.
I mean it is nice to know that while liberals and conservatives disagree on a lot of things, the one thing they can all see eye-to-eye on is the fact that this guy [Ailes] is unfu©kable.
Trevor Noah continues forward showing that Fox News’ response that this is simply a disgruntled ex-employee out for revenge for being fired does not hold much water. Specifically Fox News’ assertion that Gretchen Carlson was getting bad ratings.
You mean the ratings that showed she was beating everybody in her time slot? You mean those ratings?
Finally, the The Daily Show with Trevor Noah does what it has always done best—a montage showing you how gross and chauvinistic Fox News has always been. It’s preceded by Noah’s assertion.
I’m inclined to believe Gretchen Carlson. Not because we know what happens behind the camera at Fox News, but because we definitely know what happens in front of it.
Enjoy!
