Another day, another shooting of an innocent man and this time , the “good news “, is that it just ended up being a wounded leg.
So Giuliani, what could the black guy have done in this case to prevent a shooting? Giuliani keeps saying “Just obey the cops and nothing bad will happen” in his classic “blame the victim” mentality. I guess 41 Shots didn’t teach him how wrong he was on this point years ago. In this case, you can’t do a Michael Brown style blame the victim as the victim in this case is the caretaker/therapist(exact term seems to vary) of an autistic patient and was actually trying to protect the patient from getting shot by the cops. Then again, give these bastards time. They might find footage of him jaywalking earlier that day and use that to proclaim him a menace to motorists on the road. There is a video of the whole incident, so cops can’t try to blame the innocent law abiding victim Kinsey like the cops tries to insinuate that Castile(St. Paul shooting victim) probably did not communicate clearly enough.
Here is the case with some excerpts that follow:
Charles Kinsey, is a caregiver at a Miami-area mental health center. ... Kinsey was tending to a 23-year-old autistic man who had wandered from the center and into the street, when police arrived. …... Kinsey got on the ground with his hands raised when police pulled weapons, and it apparently didn’t make any difference—he was shot once in the leg by the North Miami officers.
In the cellphone recording that shows before shots were fired, Kinsey can be heard trying to reassure the officers that the toy truck the autistic man was carrying was not a weapon. Police said they were called to the scene with a report of a man with a gun threatening to commit suicide. Kinsey says he repeatedly told the officers that he was unarmed while lying on the ground in the middle of the street with his hands up.
Here’s how Kinsey described the incident afterward to WSVN
“When I went to the ground, I went to the ground with my hands up,” Kinsey said, “and I am laying there just like this. Telling them again there is no need for firearms. He is autistic. He has a toy truck in his hand.” ...
“I’m like this right here, and when he shot me, it was so surprising,” Kinsey said. “I thought it was a mosquito bite, and when it hit me I had my hands in the air, and I’m thinking I just got shot! And I’m saying, ‘Sir, why did you shoot me?’ and his words to me were, ‘I don’t know.’ ”
Miami Herald has more details.
So let’s assume while it is obvious the cop needs to be punished for incompetence, but not malice for the first part of the act(I think one has to have grave indifference to value of black lives to be that hasty even if not overt malice is intended). What excuses what follows next? Read on:
In an interview with WSVN-Channel 7, Kinsey said that after he was shot, officers approached and flipped him over and handcuffed him.

And, now, once the cops find out that they made a mistake, why aren’t they apologizing profusely and rushing him to the hospital and handling him with care??? Come on, you fucks (guys lke Guiliani). This is a case where the cop had the “decency” to be at least honest enough to say he didnt know why he fired instead of creating an excuse that he thought the victim had a gun, and even in this case, the racism is unacceptable. If there wasnt a video, the police department would have covered this up by now.
