Have you every wondered what would happen if the ancient past were to meet some distant future? Probably not, but a visit to the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh can show you one perspective of this meeting. Visitors to the Early Peoples gallery of the National Museum of Scotland encounter some life-size, futuristic, robotic figures: sculptures by Sir Eduardo Paolozzi entitled People. According to the Museum:
“Every object displayed has some connection with a person or community, yet there is virtually no trace of these prehistoric people as individuals. Instead, their missing faces are represented by abstract figures sculpted by Sir Eduardo Paolozzi.”
