No cooking-themed diary. I am currently sitting here with my shoulders and upper arms tingling and burning numbly because I worked out tonight. I will talk more about working out with fibromyalgia but first…..
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

It’s an odd thing working out with fibromyalgia. If I work hard enough to break a sweat, I’ve worked too hard. If I have to work hard to push the weight, it’s too much. On the other hand, one needs enough weight to challenge the muscle. I stop when I feel a little tingle start in the muscle group I’m working. And even though when I’m done I don’t feel like I’m done, I know that by the time I get home I’ll be a little stiff and sore.
So I work out just before bed. Nine pm, most nights. That way I can come home and just… fall down. It’s easier that way.
The thing is, I know from experience that I have less fatigue and more overall stamina the more in shape I am. I think the experience and precise symptom scatter differ for everyone, but for me the key to getting a lot of the overall diffuse pain to stop was slow food and no sodas, routines to help with the stress and the fog, and the Adderall not only helps with the ADHD, it also breaks through the cognitive fog. And I know that once I get somewhat habituated to the exercise, my body will feel immensely better.
For now, though…. ibuprofen. And bed.
If I’m not around when this posts, it’s the usual “we’ll turn your internet off the 29th, even if we know you get paid on the 3rd” and I’ll be back as soon as I can.
