As you can see, the state polls have now begun to roll in showing the political effects of Trump's recent descent into madness, and it's not pretty. So much for the idea that insulting war heroes, crying babies, other republicans, and states with Zika mosquitoes would play well in the heartland. These polls show him getting crushed in three of the states critical to his "Midwest/Rustbelt Strategy". And it appears that his orange, flaming, political death spiral may be having solid down ballot effects. If these polls are indicative of things to come, then we most definitely have a wave election in the making. McGinty is once again up by a point in PA, and Ayotte appears to be toast in NH… whether that's because she belongs to Trump's party, or because Trump threw shade on her is hard to tell. It's delicious either way. I can only hope that the same thing happens to Ryan and McCain in the next couple of days.
This makes it more important than ever to work harder on this election than ever before. Pour your heart and soul into every race that you can. There is a census and a redistricting coming in 4 or 5 years. That gives us just three congressional election cycles to take back as many state level legislative seats as we can. If we can undo some of the Republican leaning gerrymandering around the country, we can have majority Party in all three branches of government for the first time in decades. A chance like this comes once or twice in a lifetime. Believe me, in 30 years you will want to be able to look back at the 2016 Election and remember that you worked to make the wave of 2016 happen.
