With all of the bashing of Secretary Clinton, I keep wondering why we aren’t being reminded of how we looked at her just a little awhile ago. Gallup polls people in the US every year with the question:
What woman who you have heard or read about, living today in any part of the world, do you admire most?
Hillary has been chosen as the most admired woman in the world for the last 14 years and has been first for 20 years in all. First ladies traditionally have been chosen, but she was chosen over Laura Bush for 5 years during GW Bush’s term.
Of course, there is room to debate the whole structure of such a poll, but it is informative that she occupied this place in spite of attacks in the past. The last poll was published at the end of 2015. In some ways, this is a look at public opinion separate from all the current political trappings and Hillary is much admired. That makes sense to me!
