I’ve been following the Fort Pierce mosque arson story, and very disappointed in the level of coverage it’s received. But good news today — an arrest has been made in the arson at the Islamic Center in Fort Pierce:

The blindness of this man comes in this money excerpt, in which Mr. Schreiber’s paramount concern for peace and safety is what seems to motivate his need to set a mosque on fire:
In a July 12 Facebook post, Mr. Schreiber, who grew up in Mastic, N.Y., on Long Island, according to his social media profile, wrote that Americans should view “all forms of Islam as radical” if they want peace and safety. “There is no such a thing as radical ISLAMIC extremism...ALL ISLAM IS RADICAL,” he wrote.
Mr. Schreiber faces a charge of second-degree arson but a hate crime designation will raise the charge to first-degree arson, Major Thompson said.
The mosque has launched a crowd-funding effort, which has so far netted something shy of $24,000 from a goal of $50,000 to fix the damages caused by the blaze. Those wishing to contribute can go to:
