jabberwoky: One of the Reasons I Support Hillary Clinton — I Like to Breathe (Updated Diary)
Hillary Clinton, Tim Kaine, and their surrogates were on the campaign trail, with Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders appearing in Ohio to support Clinton and Democratic Senate Candidate Ted Strickland. Some polls have shown Hillary Clinton losing support of young voters to third party candidates, though I don’t know how real it actually is, since it’s apparently getting harder and harder to find a good polling sample.
Elizabeth Warren, in particular, got Democratic base voters going by doing what she’s so good at—lambasting Donald Trump.
Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren spent a weekend in Ohio revving up Democratic base voters by laying into Republican Donald Trump, calling him everything from a "nasty little bully" to a man with a "dark and ugly soul."
In Cleveland on Sunday, Warren targeted him for "inviting his followers to commit a terrible act of violence on his opponent," charging only "a little bully who can't win in a fair fight" would do such a thing.
Meanwhile, President Obama delivered the keynote address at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation gala and stated that if black voters cared about his legacy, they needed to show up and support Hillary Clinton.
And Tim Kaine shows why it’s great to have a running mate who has your back and isn’t afraid to say what needs to be said:
“He has done it before,” said Kaine, referencing Trump’s suggestion that “Second Amendment people” could stop Clinton from making an appointment to the Supreme Court.
“What did that mean when he said that just three weeks ago?” Kaine asked. “And when you look at a series of these comments that he is making, I do believe it is incitement or at a minimum an expression of indifference to whether violence would occur. And this is a pattern that has been repeated over and over again.”
Then last night, there was an explosion at a building in the Chelsea neighborhood in New York City. Early signs point to it being a terrorist attack, though domestic or foreign is currently unknown. Fortunately, it sounds as though no one was killed, though at least 29 were injured. Josh Marshall lives near the area of the explosion and has some interesting things to say about the area.
When Hillary Clinton was asked about the explosion, she showed the temperament that makes her alone fit to be President of the United States.
