Good evening! As I mentioned in my last diary I am riding my bike across the state of Washington. Despite the intensity of that experience, my thoughts tonight are on our fine candidate and her weaselly opponent.
Like you, I'm hoping for nothing less than a solid, crystal clear ass-kicking. I want her performance to have the one main theme - Qualification, Qualification, Qualification.
If the election is decided on qualification, it will be the biggest rout in modern times.

Here are a few things I'd love to hear her say. (Beat of all would be if her words provided pointers to all Democratic candidates in their fights against Republicans.)
In recent years Republicans have worked ever harder to build campaigns of attack only, no plans, no proposals, no answers, no specifics, just hammer fear, blame, bigotry and anger. Donald Trump has merely taken that approach to its ad absurdem extreme.
I understand that Republican voters get a Schadenfreude satisfaction out of seeing Republicans 'hit' Democrats. But it doesn't change the fact that hitting those exclusively engaged in the business and the challenge of governing isn't a qualification for dogcatcher, least of all the highest office in the land.
He is merely the worst at it, less qualified, indeed, than your typical dogcatcher. As much as many Republican voters enjoy watching Democrats be attacked, even the most cynical understand deep down that it's what one does when one LACKS qualification, when one recognizes one's own extreme inferiority to the other candidate, and like a lazy magician hopes to win through dishonesty and distraction. 'Don't look at me, look at her.’ It's cowardly, it provides answers to no political challenge or objective, and worst of all it denies all American voters the choice between competing answers in government.
Every time you hear him lashing out, every time you hear him try to lower the debate to his level, of petty bickering and personal insults, every time you hear him criticize without making a constructive proposal, you are hearing him concede his utter inadequacy when it comes to real-world, solution-providing qualification and competence. Every time.
In the free market of political ideas, he's a loser.
How many months have you been running for president? In all that time you haven’t even tried to learn anything about the job and its requirements? About our relations with other countries? About their leaders?! Incredible. No doubt you think you can 'cram' in the short months between election and inauguration. Well, you can't. The necessary learning takes many years. That's exactly how I have spent them. And you know it, too.
The office isn't insulter in chief. It isn't blamer in chief, it isn't fear-monger in chief, it isn't sniveler in chief, it isn't whiner in chief. Perfect qualifications for those positions have nothing to do with leadership, with governing. You want to talk greatness, fine. What great plans do you have for making this country better, for helping its people? Or do the American people not deserve to know how you will lead. Do they not deserve to know your qualifications for governing? Specifics of your plan? Or is the real problem that there are no specifics? No ideas? I think we all know the answer to that question. You and your campaign confess it every day.
On to tonight's comments! My best to you guys! And to our champion.

Brillig's ObDisclaimer: The decision to publish each nomination lies with the evening's Diarist and/or Comment Formatter. My evenings at the helm, I try reeeeallllyy hard to publish everything without regard to content. I really do, even when I disagree personally with any given nomination. "TopCommentness" lies in the eyes of the nominator and of you, the reader - I leave the decision to you. I do not publish self-nominations (ie your own comments) and if I ruled the world, we'd all build community, supporting and uplifting instead of tearing our fellow Kossacks down. Sometimes great comments are near the bottom of the thread, like this one about Trump's core supporters by Karmashammer in Brainwrap's diary They know who he is. And they DON'T CARE.
