The media’s coverage has been fairly terrible 12 hours later. Look, by all ways of looking at it, she crushed him last night and he came off both visually on TV and with his lies like a buffoon. And someone who would be terrifying to be president.
-He was unhinged and looked terrible with his attempt to try to loom behind her or pacing like a fat old angry orange man. Meanwhile she was in control of her facial expressions her posture and looked and sounded presidential
-He sounded terrible again with the sniffs, made all the more louder by his working mike. Meanwhile, she was clearly not on cocaine.
-He made literally dozens of lies and policy gaffes (like on Syria and how Healthcare exchange works). She was again on point with a plethora of detailed ideas on every question asked.
-He did not know what sexual assault is (and I think he really does not). She did.
-He insinuated that he would throw her in jail if he was elected (to cheers from his low IQ attendees). She spoke on having the right temperament.
-He went low calling out the Bill Clinton accusers he planted in the room. She took Michelle Obama’s high road instead of, I don’t know, pointing out he is being sued for sexually assaulting a 13yo girl right now..
-He attacked the moderators. She did not.
-He interrupted her rudely all night. She did not.
Sadly, most I have seen in the media on CNN and MSNBC, especially the later, are doing what we all feared they would before the first debate: Claiming he did good because and “held his own", because, I don’t know, he did not punch her or piss his pants? He did not grope anyone in the audience? To say he held his own and therefore maybe even came out on top due to it is ludicrous. I think perhaps it was because the bar was set impossibly low due to the tape and the previous debate performance. He literally had to almost show up and not storm off to exceede it. But come on, the only folks he won or even had a draw with were the crazy base 35-40% who would vote for him even if he did shoot someone in the middle of the street.
For the rest of the viewers, there was a clear winner.
I hate our media sometimes.
