In a speech at Liberty University in Virginia Wednesday, vice presidential wannabe Mike Pence called on his fellow Christians to “forgive” Donald Trump for his comments regarding women.
“As Christians, we are called to forgive even as we are forgiven,” Pence said.
Apparently, however, that is a one way street for blatantly dishonest religious hypocrites like Pence.
Because, if he truly believes the words from his very own mouth, that would mean that he would also forgive the sins of others, as well, such as, oh, lets say, Hillary and Bill Clinton for what he perceives as sins by them.

While this particular world citizen is no longer a member of the Christian faith, if my recall is correct, forgiveness is an important aspect of what that religion says is its belief system (and, in fact, is even a part of the spoken creed recited by members at most church services: “forgive us our sins/trespasses as we forgive those who sin/trespass against us” (though those words may be paraphrased differently for different Christian sects)).
To the best of my knowledge, the Christian faith does not say that one is supposed to forgive certain people and only certain people when one finds it to be politically expedient to do so. It says to forgive all of those who may have trespassed or sinned, whether it be against you or anyone else.
So, either Pence is not really all that devout of a Christian that he doesn’t know that, or, in typical fashion for so many Republicans...and Christians...he selectively picks and chooses certain things to allegedly “believe” in...when those things suit his particular preferences at any given point in time. Meaning, they aren’t really so much a “creed” or a “faith” as they are...an excuse for using (or is that misusing?) his alleged religious belief system to justify whatever that heck he wants.
Isn’t it convenient that Pence sees fit to cite his so-called “Christian” belief in “forgiveness” for someone like Donald Trump who has barely and unconvincingly claimed to have apologized for his vile comments condoning sexual assault of another human being, but that same Pence seems completely incapable of forgiving Hillary Clinton for whatever sins he perceives that she may have committed, despite that she has admitted publicly that those were wrong and she would do things differently in hindsight?
And why is it that journalists do not actually do their job and ask him why he is being such a blatant hypocrite by selectively citing his faith and belief in “forgiveness” with regard to Donald Trump, but not other politicians, such as Hillary?
Would it hurt journalists to actually ask the question, even knowing that he will likely obfuscate around the question as he so often does? It’s a simple question actually. And it’s the next logical question that any serious journalist would pose to someone trying to hide behind their religion to justify the unjustifiable.
