There once was a wonderful feline overlord, HisLordshipOfSnooze (HLOS) who had been the Pootie Princess’s constant companion for more than thirteen years. What a great age for a Feline Lord, especially one who had been a chronic diabetic for more than half of his life!
The day finally came, though, when HLOS was called home by The Great Ceiling Cat.
Called across the Rainbow Bridge,
where all animals eventually go to rest and frolic, where pain is a distant memory and Love abounds.
♥♥♥♥♥♥
The Pootie Princess was heartbroken and grieved for a very long time for her bestest bud, often catching sight of him out of the corner of her eye. She missed him so very much as the months went by. However, since Love never dies, she knew he was still watching over her, and she could feel his loving presence often.
Still, the Pootie Princess got lonesome for the company of a pootie to call her own. All the wonderful Pootie Peeps shared their animals and their love for them each day in the Pootie Diaries. But something was missing. Perhaps it was the sound of purring?
Finally, The Pootie Princess felt it was time to start looking for a new companion. She made a wish to find the one who needed her most to give him/her a Forever Home. She really wanted another Siamese, as she loved the breed and had been blest to be owned by one when she was young. She also knew that The Almighty and Ceiling Cat, in their infinite wisdom (and humour) probably had their own plans for her.
She checked out the local shelter and put the word out at the vet’s office. She even considered asking for one of Andy’s mum’s new kittehs, when they were born. She kept still, though, because she knew the right kitteh would find its way to her when the time was right.
Nothing seemed to come of it, until one fine day when she heard from a neighbour that there was a cat who needed a home, right there in her own backyard. After a few hits and misses, she met with the cat’s human….and her new feline overlords!!
Yes. Overlords. Plural.
It seems the human had two cats, a male and a female, who needed a home very soon. The human was leaving, and could not take the pooties with him, which is just heartbreaking, as any Pootie Peep knows. Upon meeting human and pooties, the Pootie Princess was charmed by all three! The two pooties looked very much like these two:
Both of them have golden eyes, with very sweet expressions.
The Basement Cat is a male named Shadow. The ginger/orange tabby is a female named Cinnamon. He is a little lovebug cuddlemonkey. She is quieter, more reserved, but just as sweet as she can be!! She is a lovely Virgo, with a 28 August birthday. He is a feisty boy with a Halloween birthday. Tell me that doesn’t just figure!
While the Pootie Princess had planned to only adopt one (stop that laughing, you lot!!) The Almighty and the GCC had other plans. These two pooties, while not related, have bonded and would be miserable if separated. Especially Cinnamon, who had a very tough life before she made it to the safety of the local shelter, where she was adopted. siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh
The best laid plans, and all that.
The New Overlords are young, born in 2015, so out of early kittenhood, but still very playful. Very. Extremely. They came equipped with their own beds, bowls, and toys. Lots and lots and lots of toys! lol lol Their former servant spoiled them by lavishing love and care on them. They have several rules they follow, and know “NO” and a few others. They mind well, so the PP will not at this time be taking applications for a woozle (dog) to keep them in line.
There will be more tales of the Royal Duke Shadow and his companion, the Royal Duchess Cinnamon. Brace yourselves...The Pootie Princess is in her glory!!
The Royal Household will be amassing pictures and cat tales in no time, and is very willing to share with Da Peeps. It is almost impossible to get a good pic of Shadow...all you see is a black streak barreling across the room! Aren’t they supposed to sleep 14 hours a day?? Apparently, my two didn’t get the memo! Cinnamon is camera shy, so the pic above will have to do for now.
Thank you all for wishing a good wish for me. It has come true, and we are very happy about it!
Oh...as for those who have asked, “Did you get a new cat?” and I answered, “No,” I was not fibbing. I didn’t get a cat; I got two cats. Semantics; it’s a thing. ;-)
Much lubs tu da Peeps,
