Early in-person voting has started in North Carolina, and Democrat Deborah Ross is urging her supporters to get to the polls.
“I believe voting is a fundamental right that none of us can take for granted, and that our state and country are stronger when more people participate—not fewer. I fought to strengthen voting rights and protections in the State House. As early voting starts this year, I’m encouraging everyone to take a minute, commit to when and where you are going to vote, and then go to the polls and make your voice heard.
“It’s dangerous and extremely disappointing that the Republican nominee for President of the United States wouldn’t commit to accepting the results of this election. I hope Senator Burr will reject these harmful, inaccurate statements even if he continues to support Donald Trump and serve as an advisor to his campaign.”
Speaking of Sen. Burr, here's what he has to say about Trump's ongoing refusal to say he'll accept the results of the election: "I'm not worried about America's ability to conduct fair elections." Really going out on a limb there. And notice how he completely avoided that whole not-accepting-the-results-of-a-democratic-election thing? Another GOP profile in courage.
Can you chip in $3 to help Deborah Ross oust Burr?
VoteRiders and Daily Kos are teaming up to find local volunteers to take eligible voters to the DMV to get their ID to vote in the states with voter ID laws including North Carolina, which has been ground-zero for voter suppression. Sign up here if you can help.
