Long-time Kossack tonyahky needs some help to get through November and maybe December. She’s got some steady income to cover rent and utilities but hasn’t been able to work for months and needs some help with the groceries until the food stamps come through and with making the car payment so she can get to work once she’s able to go back to work.
Last January she got rear-ended on the way home from work causing permanent damage to neck, shoulder, and lower back. It seems to have damaged a nerve as she’s got sciatica and constant numbness in her left leg. The doctor says she’ll never be able to turn her head all the way to the left again, either. Her lupus, which has been under control for the last several years, flared up and is now acting on her kidneys. The doctors think stress from the accident is causing that and that has caused some blood pressure spikes that culminated in a mini-stroke (TIA). (She expects to be having a round of the chemo-type drugs that are used to treat lupus within the next week or so — hopefully they will be able to beat the lupus back again.)
So. On the plus side, she’s got some steady income. She’s got a little bit from a 401K that she’s cashing in but will take time to receive. She’s applied for food stamps but the paperwork’s not complete. She really hopes to be able to go back to work by December. On the minus side, lupus treatment, permanent damage from the car accident, chronic pain. (And if you want some serious back story Kossacks helped her with several years ago www.dailykos.com/… )
Her daughter, Felicia Huff, has set up a "Youcaring" account. www.youcaring.com/... and also has a PayPal account for those who prefer it — hotaruhana2@gmail.com. The YouCaring site is targeting $700, but really we need to double that to $1,400.
November starts next week. Blessings upon those who can give and blessings upon those who can share to get the word out. Thank you. bfitzinAR

The car was repossessed this morning before tonyahky could make the payment and Ripoffs R Us wanted triple to give it back. Instead she’s just purchased an old Toyota van — completely purchased, no note to worry about. It runs rough, maybe a rotor, but it runs. That took up the original goal funding. We’re asking for another $300 to cover November groceries and incidentals. Thanks, bfitz
