It has arrived. Nutty right wing propaganda has now been reported as fact on CNN. While watching Anderson Cooper 360, they did a story on World Leaders response to Trump. They reported as fact the following claim:
“Canadian President Justin Trudeau had called for a ban on Trump.”
First of all, Canada doesn’t have a President. It has a Prime Minister. I’ve followed Justin Trudeau because I’m really interested in Canadian politics. I really admire the Prime Minister. During the campaign to become Prime Minister, he eloquently said, “Conservatives aren’t our enemies, they’re our neighbors,” so I thought this smelled fishy. I googled this and found that CNN had plagiarized from a fake news site and reported it as fact.
Snopes explains the source of this ridiculous smear on Prime Minister Trudeau. It turns out that the source of this ridiculous smear reported as fact on CNN was a fake news site.
Simply put, there is no excuse for this. CNN needs to run a correction at the top of the program tomorrow, and explain to its viewers why and how they reported fake news as fact. Further, if they want to be a merely trusted, they can never again be “the most trusted,” name in news, they need to immediately fire the reporter and editors involved in this ridiculous error.
Simply put, this should never happen in a newsroom with people who do their jobs. It is ridiculous and is letting our country down.

I’m still waiting on CNN to release the transcript of their story. The context was a story about world leaders who had criticized Trump but now wanted to work with him. The 30 seconds on Trudeau stated, “Canadian President Justin Trudeau, who had called for a ban on Trump before the election now says he wants to work with Trump,” and then cut to a video clip of Trudeau saying, “I intend to work with the American President no matter who it is for the good of Canada.” Simply put, this was a smear on Justin Trudeau to make him look hypocritical. CNN libeled Justin Trudeau by reporting fake news as fact, and CNN needs to immediately correct the record, explain why and how (i.e. who directed them to the fake news site on Trudeau) this fake news was reported on the air. And they need to apologize to Prime Minister Trudeau for libeling him.

CNN just published a transcript, which is linked to below. I wonder where they got this from. I wonder who they trusted as a source. This is how CNN reported fake news:
President Trudeau of Canada, who had called for a ban on Trump as long as he expressed, "Racist views, now says ... JUSTINE TRUDEAU, PRIME MINISTER CANADA: I'm going to work with President-elect Trump's administration, as we move forward in a positive way.
Simply put there is no excuse for this. Reporting fake news as fact damages our country’s international relations with our most important trading partner—Canada. CNN needs to run a correction at the top of Anderson Cooper 360 tonight and they also need to explain why and how they reported fake news as fact. They owe us, their viewers, that respect.
