Some pictures from the anti-trump rally in Chicago. It’s a cool and blustery day here — temps in the mid-30s with namesake gusty winds blowing through the city. I would estimate that there were about 1,000 people protesting. Things started at the Federal Plaza at Adams and Dearborn:
We then headed north up Dearborn:
At Monroe, we turned towards the lake and marched right in front of the theater where Hamilton is playing:
We then marched up State Street and turned onto Lake Street under the El tracks. When we turned onto Wabash there was an extremely pleasant bike cop who got lots of appreciative shout-outs from the crowd:
And things finished on the south bank of the river, right across from trump Tower.
It was a good event. Traffic that was disrupted seemed pleasant about it, lots of honks and waves of support. There were parents with children. A strong sense of unity was felt. Protests in the middle of a deep blue city might seem pointless but I think it helps drive the narrative. Every day that we hear “Protests Continue” is a good day.
