I have noticed that the liberal media has been beating the “Hillary won the popular vote" dead horse. MSNBC and CNN folks can’t help but say it a few times an hour. HuffPost has gone so far as to remind us, every day, that Hillary won more votes. But to what end does the media do this?
Surely they can't think that winning the popular vote gets you anything. And surely they don’t believe the electors will change their minds or we’ll be able to abolish the electoral college between now and next month.
No, the media beat this horse for one reason and one reason only. To try to convince Democrats and progressives that, in spite of the Democratic Party being shut out of federal power and being nearly impotent at the state level, the Democratic Party does not have to change one thing.
Think I’m wrong? Here’s a DailyKos member, The Blue, from just yesterday: “It’s completely hysterical to say we need wholesale changes. Jesus. We don’t need to change anything at all.”

Today, The Blue has made a diary. It’s www.dailykos.com/…
The essence of this diary is that Clinton won the popular vote by a lot. There’s no more than that.
What point is The Blue and the media trying to make? That the Democratic Party should stay exactly the way it is.
My question for The Blue (and the media): why are you so adamant that the Democratic Party stay the way it is? Why are you so terrified that it might change?
