Let’s not fool ourselves. Voters elected Obama because they wanted CHANGE. He promised it, but did not deliver. Then they flocked to Bernie because they wanted CHANGE. When they didn’t get Bernie, they simply refused to vote. They’d let an orange clown Hitler be president rather than vote for more of the same.
Dems experienced an historic loss across the nation, in all phases of government. Why?
82% of exit poll voters said they wanted CHANGE.
So hey, let’s give them more Nancy Pelosi.
Kossacks have been demanding her removal for ten years.
With all the buzzzzz on DKos about impeaching Cheney, it seems such action is unlikely unless Conyers can be persuaded to act. And, according to a Democracy Now interview, Conyers must answer to (and is apparently intimidated by) Pelosi, who is an obstacle to impeachment. Which suggests we must first push for Pelosi's removal. . .
They’ve wished she would be primaried.
However, as Speaker of the House, she has been a disappointment. That's my nice word, she's been an abject failure, a shanda, a betrayer of the Constitution to which she swore her oath.
And she was damned:
In the early heady days of January, there was a veritable buzz in the air. Change was a'comin. The Evil Empire of Bush/Cheney was finally derailed, and the Constitution was about to be restored.
Then Nancy got ahold of the gavel. Her first major statement was to take impeachment "off the table." While her intention may have been to quiet the rancor and hatred between the parties, it had the opposite effect. It showed the GOP minority that the new speaker was weak, ineffectual, short-sighted, and constantly willing to seek accommodation and compromise.
The Dems will go the way of the dinosaur and that’s fitting since they were Democrats In Name Only all along. It’s unforgivable that they are inflicting a generation of Republican rule upon us in the meantime. My children deserved better. WE deserved better.
But the Democrats who chose Nancy “impeachment is off the table” Pelosi deserve only our contempt.
Goodbye 2018.
