If you haven’t heard yet, Texas has passed the bill requiring aborted fetuses to be given a funeral. As you HAVE heard, this is a obvious ploy to make abortion just that more difficult for women and their health care providers.
Fine. Let’s give them what they want.
Cremation, followed by scattering the ashes is legal. So are mass funerals. So, once a month, let’s hold one. A great big social media extravaganza. Guest eulogies, viewings of the unrecognizable tissues, and a parade, with signs and banners.
Without naming names, let’s tell the stories about these poor fetuses and why their mothers had to make the terrible decisions they did. Keep the issue in the public eye, and spread the truth about abortion — that abortion is not a bunch of party girls scraping out last night’s indiscretions, but real people faced with impossible choices.
Then let the governor defend himself.
