This week is my busiest week at work, so this is going to primarily be a music diary. A number of years ago, I heard this song on the radio during December. At first I thought the radio station I listened to was switching over to Christmas music … but not quite. Instead they were playing Bob Rivers Christmas parody songs. They stuck in my mind and tickled my funny bone, so I had to look them up later and purchase some of the albums. So without further ado, here are a few of my favorite Bob Rivers tracks below the fold.
Wreck the Malls (Deck the Halls parody):
The Restroom Door Said ‘Gentlemen’ (God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen parody):
The Twelve Pains of Christmas (The 12 Days of Christmas parody):
O Come All Ye Grateful Dead-Heads (O Come All Ye Faithful parody):
This one technically isn’t a parody of a Christmas song; but the lyrics are Christmas-themed.
Decorations (Good Vibrations parody):
And to close, this one isn’t a parody, but more of a recognition of the Pagan roots of Christmas (and a fun jingle).

Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share part of the evening around a virtual kitchen table with kossacks who aren’t throwing pies at one another. Drop by and tell us about your weather, your garden, or what you cooked for supper. Newcomers may notice that many who post diaries and comments in this series already know one another to some degree, but we welcome guests at our kitchen table, and hope to make some new friends as well.
As always, this is an open thread and nothing is off topic. What do you want to kibitz about tonight?
