TOPNOTE: I just received clarification on the following bill from a staff person on the provisions of the law, refer to FOOTNOTE below:
Washington State: HB 1015 introduced 5 December 2016, just before the WA legislature lit out of town at the end of session, pertaining to carrying concealed weapons into public facilities (sports arenas, etc.):
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 36.1007 RCW to read as follows: (1) A public facilities district may not prohibit persons with a valid concealed pistol license from carrying a concealed pistol in any facility or on any grounds of a facility that is owned, operated, managed, administered, controlled, or maintained by the public facilities district, or leased or rented to a private or public entity by the public facilities district.
(2) A private entity that operates, manages, administers, controls, maintains, or leases or rents a facility from a public facilities district may not prohibit persons with a valid concealed pistol license from carrying a concealed pistol in the facility or on the grounds of the facility.

I’ve been trying and trying to track down the authors of the bill, state reps. Bob McCaslin and Matt Shea, both Republicans from legislative district 4, Spokane Valley, and David Taylor, Republican, LD 15, Yakima, but their offices in Olympia are shut down until the start of the new session in January, and they don’t return calls from their regional offices.
I can only assume that the NRA has passed down from on high a dictum, (commandment?), to slip in legislation forbidding the repression of weaponry in public facilities at end of session to clandestinely pass in the confused, opening days of a new session.
But, in the meantime, I need to know:
WHY DO YOU NEED TO CARRY A CONCEALED WEAPON
INTO A PUBLIC SPORTS ARENA IN AMERICA?
FOOTNOTE: chapter 36.100 RCW; chapter 36.102 RCW; chapter 9.41 RCW already provides that one may carry concealed weapons into the various facilities, this bill FORCES all facilities (whether they wish to or not) to comply with concealed carry provisions.
In the meantime I still want to know:
WHY DO YOU NEED TO CARRY A CONCEALED WEAPON
INTO A PUBLIC SPORTS ARENA IN AMERICA?
