Dear Conservatives,
You won. Your guy is going to be the next President. Your people control the House and Senate. You are in control, and it scares me.
I know you don’t understand that. You’ve asked me to see things from your point of view. I’ve read dozens of articles telling me how it was the responsible thing to do to vote for Trump, and how you are not racist or sexist.
My daughter is disabled. She has Williams Syndrome, and her IQ is in the mid 40’s, but she works at a local grocery store bagging groceries. She works enough (15 hrs a week) that her Medicaid was stopped, but she has Medicare. Her medications would cost several thousand dollars a month without it, and now I read that the men you voted into power want to take down Medicare. Oh, I know they say they want to overhaul it, privatize it, and deregulate it, but you guys don’t have a great track record with that sort of thing. For the last eight years you’ve promised a new and improved healthcare plan, but that hasn’t materialized. You’ve consistently cut funding for education, veterans, and food assistance. Now you not only want to stop the Affordable Care Act, you also want to play with Social Security and Medicare.
I don’t trust you. I think you would not have any problem removing the social programs, like Medicare, that allow my daughter, and others like her, to survive. You guys talk a good talk about being all prolife, and protecting the unborn, but you folks don’t really care about people after they leave the birth canal.
Call me a libtard. Call me a bleeding heart. Call me a snowflake. Call me a Social Justice Warrior. Those words don’t hurt me.
But don’t take my daughter’s healthcare. That scares me. You scare me.
