Obviously this is a busy day, but we could use your help in pressing this case to your Congressional representatives.
One story lost in yesterday’s shuffle was that Custom’s agents acting on orders other than the chain of command, refused to desist when ordered to stand down…
We don’t where the breach in the chain of command occurred right now, so it is not fair to blame the low guy on point who actually believes he is doing what America expects and wants. And wearing the shoes of those involved, it is hard to pin-point in real time when one should follow the orders of the executive elected by the people, or switch over to following a politically appointed judge who issues a stay.
The answer is to prosecute those agents who refused Congressional and judicial appeals to cease and desist immediately.
”Wait” will be their outcry. “We were following orders, You can’t criminalize us”…
The answer they need to realize is: “sorry, but yes we can”… As the message spreads that they are no longer protected by their allegiance to this or that shady alt-Right character, but to the American people and its collection of laws, any rebellion breaks down under its own weight.
Your help is appreciated. Please call your Congressional staffs to demand they push to prosecute those who did not allow detainees to go when ordered by judges and members of Congress to do so. Explain your view how they represent a rogue element and if we are to save Democracy, they must be held accountable to our system of laws, not the personality of a rogue himself.
