Trump press secretary Sean Spicer is a liar. He's lying about this too.
Praise for a Trump-signed Holocaust Remembrance Day statement that explicitly did not mention the Jews targeted has been damn hard to come by. In a brief perusal of news and other less newsy sources, we have been able to find only a few examples.
Neo-Nazi site Daily Stormer has some praise. Perhaps Sean Spicer meant this?
Organized Jewry is frothing at the mouth at Donald Trump’s faux pas on “Holocaust memorial day.” [...]
[Trump] is still exceeding expectations in pushing back against Jewish supremacy. The vast majority of people in America, who are generally ignorant regarding the truth of World War II, will see nothing wrong with Trump’s statement, but the kneejerk Jewish reaction exposes them once again.
David Duke also was pleased by the move. Perhaps Sean Spicer meant David Duke?
Or what about white supremacist site Stormfront? Reactions there include "Bad goy, forgot to mention the special, unique suffering!"
That's it. That's all the "praise" I can find. I don't know where Sean Spicer and the rest of the Trump staff are getting their news from, but if they're finding that reactions to their Holocaust statement are mostly "praise", they would appear to be getting their news from rather unconventional sources.
Feel free to pipe up here, Sean Spicer. I know you don't like it when people accuse you of lying.
