According to the New York Times (17 April 2016):
In Wisconsin this month, primary voters were arbitrarily rejected or forced to endure a maze of three separate waiting lines for registration, identification and balloting. Similar restrictions elsewhere will be facing their first test in November.

To further complicate the situation of a three-step procedure to secure the right to vote, registration — but you need a valid ID to secure registration so go to another line and, OK, you have ID, you’ve been duly registered — now go to another line to get a ballot.
Oh, and here’s another way Republican legislators in Wisconsin screwed the pooch:
The Republican-controlled legislature that approved the law did not budget any funds for educating residents about the requirements, and students doing get-out-the-vote work told ThinkProgress they have seen widespread confusion around the law.

6 April 2016. Wisconsin. Republican legislators screwing voters:
The burden of voter ID laws falls hardest on the marginal members of society, who are predominately nonwhite, elderly, or both. In Wisconsin, 9 percent of registered voters (300,000 people) lack government-issued identification and fall disproportionately under those groups. And while Wisconsin provides voter ID at no cost through its Department of Motor Vehicles, the dirty secret is that this is a difficult and cumbersome process given the extremely limited hours for DMV offices. (Just 31 of Wisconsin’s 92 DMVs hold normal business hours and most are open just twice a week.) And worse, as Berman notes, Republican legislators in the state made no provision for voter education. They also shut down the state board that monitors elections.

How many people in Wisconsin DID NOT VOTE in the 2016 election because of this Republican crap?
And, who would they have voted for?
I’ve lived in Wisconsin. Physically, it’s a gorgeous state and I love Madison, Wisconsin, and the University of Wisconsin but . . .
I swear to God that there are dark corners in Wisconsin where strange things lurk, things that strangle potential voters and see to it that thugs like Joe McCarthy and Scott Walker get elected to office.
