This report from CNN has finally noticed that the loud responses we’ve seen at congressional town halls, millions of calls that have shutdown the phones on capital hill and protests that have arisen all around the nation are not isolated or random acts. They show that we are Indivisible.
Breaking down and reverse engineering the tactics used by the Tea Party against the Presidency of Barack Obama, those who have read the Indivisible’s Guide, and instruction guide for standing up to the Trump administration which has been converted into video form, are making waves, and taking names.
And they have been loud, very loud.
Here are two videos, one with Comedian Tim Allen who continues to support the current White House resident, and shows how much he — and in general the right-wing — fail to understand that the elevation of this horrific pathological narcissist kleptocrat to the Oval Office is a clear and present danger to the functioning and survival or our Republic. They really think people opposed to Trump are nothing more than sore losers crying over their fruit loops when it’s really, seriously, not that. That it’s hypocritical to be strident about Trump simply because you oppose the fact that he’s a bully, and that there’s “no source material” to be legitimately opposed to him and his dangerous delusional xenophobic authoritarian policies. Yeah, seriously, there is.
They also seem to think that Hollywood doesn’t understand middle America, failing to realize that most people in Hollywood aren’t from Hollywood, they came to California or New York in order to escape from middle America. I was born and grew up in Los Angeles, and I can tell you most people here aren’t from here. Just as Meryl Streep said other than those who are second generation like Gwyneth Paltrow, who is Blythe Danner’s daughter, almost everyone you can think of — Hugh Jackman is Australian, Julliane Moore is from North Carolina, Reese Witherspoon was born in New Orleans, Chloe Grace Moretz is from Atlanta, Paul Giamatti is from New Haven Connecticut and don’t even let me get started on Benedict Cumberbatch and David Oyelowo — hardly any of them are natives of Southern California. Frankly the transplants are generally nicer than the natives. Their common progressive outlook is actually a counter reaction to the knee-jerk hate mongering of the middle American right-wing. It’s not that they don’t get it, they know exactly what it is and they don’t want it. They fled it.
And then there’s Bill Maher who with this response makes it clear why we can’t afford to “Give Donald a Chance” and we need to push, block and shut him and his agenda down at each and every opportunity because he. is. a threat. to. the. nation.
“The president has been in office barely three weeks,” said a Trump supporter at the town hall. “Why can’t you guys in the media and Hollywood give him some slack?”
“Because of what he’s done!” Maher shot back instantly.
“But it’s only been three weeks!” replied the Trump supporter.
Maher then went on to break down why Trump has been a disaster who has earned every piece of criticism that he’s received so far.
“It’s a giant con, what he’s done,” Maher said. “He ran for the ‘little man.’ And then what does he do? He gets into office, the coal companies can dump sludge in the river. Because, you know, that’s what the ‘little man’ is aching for. Undoing Dodd-Frank, because so many of the town halls in Appalachia, people were standing up and saying, ‘Mr. Trump, please get rid of the Volcker Rule, because if I can’t make certain speculative investments, it’s killing us here!'”
Maher said that his problems with Trump went beyond his positions on political issues, however — he said that Trump is simply temperamentally unfit to be president.
“It’s beyond politics, it’s about sanity,” Maher explained. “It’s about somebody who makes stuff up, who doesn’t read. His information is either anecdotal, or pulled out of his… behind.”
Amen, Brother.
