According to the Palm Beach Post, our president will return once again to Mar-a-Lago in Florida this coming weekend. That will make it three weekends in a row that the country’s head of the executive branch is using his private resort to conduct business.
Trump will be in town from Friday through Monday, according to the FAA. The advisories issued by the agency are among the best indicators of presidential travel. They are issued several days before the FAA enacts temporary flight restrictions, and are intended as a heads up to pilots who may travel through an area when a president is visiting.
The confirmation came with this FAA notice. This comes shortly after it was announced that President Trump would be skipping his promised trip to Ohio.
The Youngstown Vindicator reported over the weekend that Trump was planning to sign a bill overturning an Obama administration regulation known as the “Stream Protection Rule,” which sought to prevent coal companies from depositing waste into streams.
The Vindicator also reported on Monday that the trip would not happen, citing a spokesman for the 910th Airlift Wing of the Youngstown Air Reserve Station. The spokesman told the paper that the unit was not given a reason for the cancellation.
Considering that this last trip to Mar-a-Lago, to show off his golf course and Japan’s Prime Minister Abe around, went so well, it’s no wonder he would want to head back there. Mar-a-Lago’s phone is ringing off the hook as citizens try to get our orange-in chief’s attention. See you later, Ohio. Trump’s going to go hang with some alligators.
