As some of you know, my dog, Rex, has been, at times, an active Twitter user. He wants to be the first dog to have a political television show, and he has been pursuing his dream for a few years now.
After becoming discouraged at his chances of landing a spot on MSNBC, CNN or Fox News a couple of years ago, he dialed back his Twitter involvement. However, with Trump’s election, Rex has reengaged in the Twitterverse.
During this morning’s Trump Twitter tantrum over news reports suggesting that people from his campaign had extensive contact with Russian intelligence officials during the 2016 presidential campaign, Rex tweeted the following response to President Trump:
Rex has told me that he fully intends to call out Trump on Twitter, and he claims to be the only dog doing so (though I have been unable to verify that fact).
Rex also told me that he has dialed back his ambitions a tad and now seeks only to be a regular guest on “Morning Joe” and maybe other MSNBC shows as opposed to hosting his own show. (He hasn’t given up completely on that dream, but noted that, “Dat gig wil kum in tym wuns day see how smart i em.”)
I wish Rex the best. He’s a good dog. Plus, I told him if he lands the guest role on MSNBC, I will fulfill his wish to replace his current dog food with sushi on a daily basis.
Good dog, Rex!
