Ahhh, Justice.
Marsha Blackburn (Wicked Witch of West TN), Representing the 7th district, did everything she could to host a nice, quiet town hall last night. She went to a very small, conservative town in her district, sent a select number of invitations, had security check ID’s at the doors to make sure only her constituents were present...but, unfortunately for her, some people still asked uncomfortable questions.
Here’s a few of my favorite lines from that evening.
The first question came from a constituent who said he was “concerned about oversight in Washington,” specifically the elevation of Steve Bannon, whom he identified as “a notorious white nationalist,” to the National Security Council.
Blackburn initially deflected, saying only, “I don’t speak for the president,” then, after saying she had personally had no problems interacting with Bannon, added, “I am not aware that he’s taken anybody’s place on the NSC.”
A chorus of incredulous boos followed. “It’s all over the national media,” the man asking the question replied.

“I think Ms. DeVos is going to be a fine secretary,” Blackburn said to loud boos from the crowd. “She’s going to do a fine job.”
“We are not stupid,” someone in the crowd fired back. “Stop this.”

“I know that Christians have seen incredible persecution,” Blackburn replied, prompting another chorus of boos.
Sad. When you’ve lost a room full of white Christians from Tennessee, you’ve really lost.
But wait, there’s more!
Last night she called in to Anderson Cooper...and went right into the lie about most of the people there being paid protestors at her maximum security private gathering...I mean, town hall...and that in fact only one third of the people there were from her district. Cooper was...skeptical...but then she went there again today with Wolf Blitzer who had NONE OF THAT.
During an interview this afternoon, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer relentlessly grilled the Tennessee lawmaker on her claims and pressed her to provide proof and evidence to back up her assertion, all while providing additional sources that contradicted her.
Her evidence?
1. Some people said so.
2. There were out-of-state license plates in the parking lot.
Rock solid.
She also complained that Blitzer was “hung up on percentages,” with the CNN anchor shooting back that she was the one who made the claim in the first place.
Right. You pull some bullshit statistics out of your ass and then when confronted on said bullshit you don’t understand why people are so caught up in the details of said bullshit. She has a point, though, it’s not about the percentages.
Do your job.
