Good morning all. Today, there will not be a Nuts & Bolts, as I’ve spent the week in Atlanta, Georgia in the DNC Winter meeting. At this meeting, we’re going to vote for officers and resolutions. Because I have long argued for the position of transparency, I’m going to be live-blogging this throughout the day.
Right now, we are in a members only session testing out our electronic clickers, to make sure that everyone knows how to vote. If you have questions as we go, please feel free to ask so I can try and help answer any questions. As I vote, I’m going to try and update here and explain how and why I voted in the way that I did.
Now, let’s go!

We’ve just done a test of our clickers asking people their age. The number of people over 65 dominates, with 137 members. Young members? 14. It’s a work in progress, or people just randomly punched. But based on what I see in the room, I’d buy it.

The first resolution we really discussed for debate was Pelosi’s amendment to re-instate the corporate giving ban. It was quashed without debate, stricken based on a motion and votes. I’m not 100% sure I would have voted for it, but I thought the idea of having the debate was healthy, so I was a “no” vote on quash. Theresa, my fellow Kansan, abstained (with good reason)
UPDATE
So, wifi in this room crashed and has been out for a while. In a statement of unity, Ellison was named Deputy Chair to Perez. We are currently voting on Treasurer while we get to Secretary.
