Alan Dershowitz has made a big show these past few days over how he’d leave the party if Keith Ellison won the DNC chair race because he has a history of antisemitism. I’m not going to spend time on that tired old story that has been disproved a hundred times.
Dershowitz was on CNN last night with Don Lemon among others (don’t have a link). Regardless of how you feel about Ellison, what the Professor said last night was inexcusable for any Democrat.
Before the conversation actually turned to Ellison, Don asked him if Trump and Bannon were anti-semitic. Dershowitz’s answer? Not in the least bit.
He didn’t believe Trump was anti-semitic. Whatever.
The kicker was that, as he explained it, Bannon is a strategist. He had to act a certain way out of the need to be politically smart. So antisemitism isn’t really antisemitism as long as there’s a reason behind it? Is that logic that you teach in your law classes?
I guess the good professor hadn’t heard of Breitbart or read any of the antisemitic stories that ran under Bannon’s watchful eye. I guess things that Ellison did as a young man are much worse that what Bannon has done very recently.
If Ellison wins, don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out Alan. And if Ellison doesn’t win, the Democrats should throw him the hell out anyway as a Trump and Bannon apologist. Won’t give anything he says anymore an ounce of credence.
