Yep, this is the awesome graphic I came up with for your Top Commenting pleasure. I don’t care. Mock if you must. But TC is wearing black tonight in honor of the late Bill Paxton. For those who don’t know him (and those who can’t quite seem to get his last name right) Paxton will long be remembered for his heart and warmth on screen. And his turn as a bad guy on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. looked like he had more fun than we did.
It has been a weird week. I’m not sure where to go with this diary. For those who have seen me do this before, the disjointed ramblings will be familiar. I like to write my Sunday TC the day of. Keeps it fresh. Sometimes my stream of consciousness diaries get weird as well. So, we shall follow the lead of the good Doctor Thompson. Get gonzo, buy the ticket, and take the ride …

A Bit of Comedy Gold Passed Today!
Paxton/Pullman Jokes (1987-2017)
Well loved leading man/character actor Bill Paxton died this morning from surgical complications. Obviously, our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. But dammit, I run a comedy show around here. So, here it goes …
Pictured here >>>>
is Bill Pullman. He was the President on Independence Day and used the Schwartz™ in SpaceBalls.
Bull Pullman is a fine man and a tremendous talent. He will surely be asked for comment at some point.
Please send flowers through his agent.
If anyone would get the joke, it’s Pullman.
You know I’m right …
So, Pictured here >>>>
is Bill Paxton. He chased storms in Twister while falling in love again with Helen Hunt. He also played a man with three amazing wives in Big Love.
Don’t believe me? Fine …
ask Rolling Stone …

Brillig's ObDisclaimer: The decision to publish each nomination lies with the evening's Diarist and/or Comment Formatter. My evenings at the helm, I try reeeeallllyy hard to publish everything without regard to content. I really do, even when I disagree personally with any given nomination. "TopCommentness" lies in the eyes of the nominator and of you, the reader - I leave the decision to you. I do not publish self-nominations (ie your own comments) and if I ruled the world, we'd all build community, supporting and uplifting instead of tearing our fellow Kossacks down.
Note: Please remember that comment inclusion in Top Comments does not constitute support or endorsement by diarist, formatter, Top Comments writers or DailyKos. Questions, complaints or comments? Contact brillig.
Paxton didn’t always play the nice guy ...
But he will long be remembered as one…

from your humble diarist:
… nothing quoted, nothing prosecuted ...
from Yasuragi:
Dr. Whk posted this comment in Denise's FP post on lynching:
It's so rare that we hear a first-hand account like this. It's staggering to read, and so important to hear.
from Avila:
Yasuragi remembers a Tweet from Senator Cory Booker as her mantra in Denise’s brilliant FP history of lynching.
from Mike The Liberal:
Slamfu offers one of the best descriptions of the pus that has become the Republican Party.
from Catte Nappe:
In Chris Reeves’ Post-Action Report: The DNC Winter Meeting, Why I Ran, And The Fact We Are OK, this comment from NorthBronxDem is a gem of Uncommon Sense.
