My teeth have never been that good, but due to the surgery I had a few months back (In December of last year) when they were putting me under they knocked out about (or chipped) 5 of my front teeth. Since I already had a few missing top teeth, and since Medicare which I am on does not really do anything for implants I was told to just knock out all the top teeth and get an upper.
Needless to say I have not been looking forward to this. Having the whole top row of teeth taken out sounds painful, sounds costly, and as I am already clinically depressed this is doing wonders for it.
But I know that it needs to be done, that somehow, G-d willing, since I am under a “sorta-payment plan” (I started to play the lotto, for example sigh)that I will be able to afford it.
But I have a question for those of you that have had 1 or both rows of teeth extrated.
I will have gas used, so my first question is, do you feel anything?
I will have them removed in two trips, then eventually go to the dds to get the dentures put on. Is this SOP?
How did you survive eating between extraction and upper/lower/etc put in? How long did you have to eat just soft food? Was this an issue for you?
I already bought a whole bunch of soups I can eat online in bulk so they’re cheaper, along with a huge box of Raman noodles. Any other ideas?
I appreciate everyone’s thoughts and offers to help with donations (houstonbfskinner at netscape dot net is my paypal address), videos, prayers, or good thoughts.
If you ever had multiple teeth extractions I’d like to hear about your experience(s) if you do not mind sharing.
Thanks
